What is CVC fabric

Short for Chief Value Cotton is a blended textile in which cotton serves as the primary component (comprising no less than 60% of the content), while polyester acts as the secondary component.

It stands in direct contrast to standard T/C fabric (polyester-cotton blends, where the proportion of polyester typically exceeds that of cotton). Simply put, CVC features a higher proportion of cotton to polyester, whereas T/C features a higher proportion of polyester to cotton.

Core Advantages

Comfortable and Skin-Friendly:Due to its high cotton content, it offers a soft touch and excellent breathability, providing a level of wearing comfort comparable to pure cotton.

Durable and Wrinkle-Resistant: The inclusion of polyester makes it more abrasion-resistant and less prone to deformation than pure cotton fabrics, while also enhancing its resistance to wrinkling.

High Cost-Effectiveness: Its price is typically lower than that of high-quality pure cotton fabrics of a similar grade, yet it offers superior durability compared to pure cotton.

Primary Drawbacks

Prone to Pilling: Polyester fibers are susceptible to pilling (forming small lint balls) due to friction; furthermore, the high cotton content can sometimes trap these pills, making them difficult to remove.

Moderate Moisture Absorption:While it outperforms pure polyester in this regard, its moisture absorption and wicking capabilities are slightly less effective than those of 100% pure cotton.

Typical Uses:Widely utilized in the production of Polo shirts, T-shirts, work uniforms, school uniforms, as well as mid-range dress shirts and casual trousers, effectively balancing the need for comfort with the demands of washability and durability.

Identification Tip:Check the care label for the fabric composition. If the label reads "80% Cotton / 20% Polyester," it is CVC fabric; if it reads "65% Polyester / 35% Cotton," it is T/C fabric.
